留学生別科とは

 日本の大学院・大学等に入学を希望する学生のために日本語及び日本事情、日本文化を教育する大学における教育機関です。
 大阪国際大学留学生別科では、海外協定校からの交換留学生や日本語能力の向上を目標とする留学生が在籍しており、様々な国からのクラスメイトと日本語を共通語として交流することで国際感覚も身につけることができます。

学習環境について

 充実した設備の大学のキャンパスで、日本語教育経験豊かな教授陣により日本語、日本事情の授業を受けることができます。日本人学生との交流会もあり、日本語学習の機会は教室内だけではありません。

特色

大阪国際大学留学生別科には次の5つの特色があります。

(1)日本語の習得を高める能力別少人数教育! レベル別に1クラス10~20名までの少人数でクラス編成を行っているため、自分のレベルにあった授業を受講できます。

(2)大阪国際大学の学生の一員となり、充実した勉強・生活環境!
・図書館、食堂、カフェ、ジム等の充実した設備環境
・クラブ、サークル活動参加(許可要)
・大学イベント参加(ボランティア等様々な文化体験)
・キャリアサポートセンターの利用(留学生専任スタッフが日本での就職についてのアドバイスを行います)

(3)日本語学習だけではない!様々な異文化体験で国際感覚を身につける!
・海外協定校からの交換留学生が在籍し、様々な国のクラスメイトと交流
・学部や短大の日本人学生との交流会を実施
・地域住民との交流イベントや様々な日本文化に触れる交流イベントを実施
・空手や書道等伝統文化研究の授業を開講(コロナウィルスの影響で2021・2022年度は不開講)

(4)教育スタッフ!
経験豊富な教師陣が熱意をもって指導。留学生活全般に関しては国際交流センター事務スタッフが親身に対応します。

(5)手厚い進学支援!
・大阪国際短期大学部、大阪国際大学学部、大学院研究科に内部進学する場合、3つの特典があります。
入学検定料が免除になります。(短期大学部、大学学部3万円、大学院3万円)
入学金が半額免除になります。(短期大学部25万円の半額、大学学部28万円の半額、大学院20万円の半額)
短期大学部、大学学部については、留学生別科生のためだけの内部選抜が行われます。(出席状況や成績など一定の基準を満たした学生が受験可能)
・大阪国際大学大学院研究科進学のためのマンツーマンの指導。
・他大学、大学院進学希望者にも親身に進学支援を行います。

※短期大学部には3つの学科(幼児保育学科、栄養学科、ライフデザイン学科)がありますが、留学生が進学できるのは、ライフデザイン学科の観光・英語コースもしくはキャリアデザインコースになります。

About BEKKA “School of Japanese Studies for Foreign Students at Osaka
International University”

 This school is part of the OIU system. Its purpose is to educate foreign students who are interested in enrolling in universities or graduate schools in Japan, in the Japanese language, culture and current affairs.
 The school has both exchange students from overseas schools with whom OIU has agreements and foreign students who are here to improve their Japanese proficiency, therefore you will find yourself interacting with classmates from all around the world in Japanese and will gain an understanding of how other people in this world think.

Learning environment.

 The campus has everything you would expect a university to have and the classes are taught by seasoned faculty with extensive experience in Japanese language education.
 There are also opportunities to interact with Japanese students, so learning extends beyond the classroom.

Characteristics

The school has the following five characteristics.

(1) Ability-based small group education for improving Japanese language proficiency!
Because classes are streamed according to level into small groups of 10-20 students per class, you can take lessons that fit your own level.

(2) A full studying and living environment as a student of OIU!
- Outstanding facilities including library, cafeteria, gym and more
- Participation in club and circle activities (permission required)
- Participation in university events (volunteer and various cultural activities)
- Use of the Career Support Center (staff dedicated to international students offer advice on finding employment in Japan)

(3) Not only Japanese language learning! Various intercultural experiences that teach you how to acquire international awareness!
- Since classes also include exchange students from the overseas schools that have agreements with OIU, you can interact with classmates from various countries.
- You have opportunities for exchange with Japanese students in the undergraduate departments and Osaka International College.
- Exchange events with local citizens and various Japanese cultural interaction events are staged.
- Traditional culture research lessons are conducted on karate, calligraphy, etc. (not held in FY2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

(4) Education staff!
Experienced faculty teachers will passionately instruct you. Office staff members in the International Exchange Center offer careful support regarding general matters of living and studying in Japan.

(5) Generous support for advancement!
- Students who advance to programs in Osaka International College, OIU undergraduate faculties or graduate school receive three benefits.
1. The application fee is exempted (30,000 yen for Osaka International College, OIU undergraduate faculties and graduate school).
2. Half of the entrance fee is exempted (50% of 250,000 yen for Osaka International College, 50% of 280,000 yen for OIU undergraduate faculties, and 50% of 200,000 yen for the graduate school).
3. For SJSFS students only, internal screening is conducted for those seeking admission to Osaka International College and OIU undergraduate faculties.
(Students who meet a certain standard of attendance, performance, etc. are eligible to sit examinations).
- One-on-one guidance for students wishing to advance to the OIU graduate school program.
- Careful support is also provided to students who aspire to advance to other universities or graduate schools.

※Osaka International College has three departments (Department of Child Education and Welfare, Department of Nutrition, and Department of Life Design), and international students can advance to the Tourism and English Course or Career Design Course conducted in the Department of Life Design.
