Institute of International Relations
Considering the world as it is now and looking towards what lies ahead...
For an institution like ours bearing the word "international" in its very name, the most important issue at hand is to research the many problems that plague this planet and to contribute to their solution. Our Institute of International Relations, established simultaneously with the creation of the University, proudly assumes the burden of working torwards the achievement of this noble goal. From its inception until today, its activities are embodied in the promotion of "International Symposia", collaborative research programs with various foreign countries, and other worthy efforts made to actively engender international academic exchanges. The fruits of the ongoing efforts of the Institute of International Relations in interdisciplinary fields such as politics, economics, and culture are evident in its stream of informative research reports and working papers. At times like the Great Kobe Earthquake, we take up urgent research themes such as the economic effects of this kind of calamity and make proposals and announcements that try to meet the needs of the time and offer countless suggestions for the betterment of modern society.
